Indian tea, otherwise called chai, is rich and smooth, profoundly shaded, steaming hot, and strikingly flavorful with an unequivocal requirement for sugar to balance the hot sharpness.
The word chai simply implies tea. Chai = tea.

Here’s the way to make Indian chai tea at home:
1. Add all of the whole spices to a mortar and pestle and crush into large pieces.
2. Bring a stove top pot up to a low/medium heat. add the crushed spices or 1 tablespoon of our Tea Blend and toast for about 2 minutes, then add the ginger and continue toasting for another minute until the spices start becoming very aromatic.
Note:- Half crushed spices and 1/2 Tablespoon of Tea Blend can also be used. We recommend playing with the serving sizes until it suits your taste.
3. Add water and milk to the pot. stir and bring up to a light simmer – this should take about 10 -15 minutes. Remove from heat when the liquid simmers.
4. Add the honey/sweetener and stir to combine. Then add the black tea and stir, let steep for about 4 – 5 minutes depending on how strong you like your chai.
5. Pour the chai through a strainer to catch all of the whole spices.
6. Serve warm or let cool and store in fridge to serve over ice.
